CINNAMON BAZAAR x MR LYAN

A new brand from the man behind Cinnamon Kitchen & Cinnamon Club, Bazaar expresses Vivek Singh's experiences of traditional Indian street & comfort food from his youth exploring the trading bazaars. Taking inspiration from the ingredients, produce & food seen in markets along the old Silk Road trading routes, the menu is playful and invites conversational sharing.

THE PROJECT

Vivek is a master of his home flavours, with a number of highly applauded sites across London. A natural entrepreneur, he and his team are quick to see the value to their customers in offering the same level of quality across every product, be it food or drinks. The flamboyant & tantalising flavours of India needed an innovative hand to develop a cocktail menu to stand beside the quality of food. Then a keen operator to design a bar for producing the necessary volume efficiently at their Covent Garden site.

THE JOURNEY

To create the perfect offering we spent time with the kitchen team and hunting through (incredible & fascinating) spice racks. To make it appealing and motivating for the customer, a short menu of drinks was created designed to work across all points of a meal, with heavier weighting to the arrival and early meal serves. Modern Indian touch points relating to Bazaar shopping were incorporated to resonate with the food and brand and build a seamless product. Quick edits were introduced to the proposed bar design to lower wait times and increase efficiency.

THE RESULT

Cinnamon Bazaar won a coveted Michelin-guide “Bib Gourmand”, placing it among the best restaurants in London and the world. Their cocktails drove coverage in London’s restaurant press upon first opening and continues to be a key theme in communications.
